We build a real-time, offline species recognition platform

We are developing OFELIA

We are developing OFELIA – an application enabling offline recognition of edible fungi, plants, and animals found in nature – in collaboration with the Hungarian Mycological Society, the OpenBioMaps community, and researchers.

OFELIA is a fully offline-capable mobile app that uses artificial intelligence to identify fungal, plant, and animal species. Real-time image recognition and the built-in chat provide fast and reliable identification anytime, anywhere.​

How does it work?

​OFELIA combines multiple pre-trained AI models and also considers user descriptions to deliver the most accurate results. The system is trained on images from the Atlas of Danish Fungi and is continuously updated with expert-verified user submissions. Online, it can synchronize new species and interoperate with biodiversity databases.
